26 Oct Samsung Continues Investing in the Hospitality TV Market
Samsung Electronics America, Inc., a market leader and award-winning innovator in consumer electronics, today announced its continued commitment to the hospitality TV market and details on its plans for innovation in the coming year. As the leader in the television market worldwide, Samsung is recognized for delivering superior technology, design and value. Its current line of hospitality TVs provide entertainment solutions that optimize operational efficiency, promote customer satisfaction and improve sustainability. As the hospitality industry continues to grow, and customer demand for technological innovation increases, Samsung is continuing its commitment to meet these needs and expand its offerings next year.
“We are steadfastly committed to the hospitality industry. Consumers today demand a higher level of excellence for their entertainment experiences, from the living room to the hotel room,” says Jonas Tanenbaum, vice president of LCD HDTV marketing at Samsung Electronics America Inc. “Samsung is committed to delivering the best in entertainment. For our hospitality customers, we are providing the variety, value, and innovation that will exceed consumer expectations and drive new service and revenue opportunities.”
A Focus on Superior Technology
This year, Samsung has made significant strides in expanding its commitment to the hospitality industry and meeting the needs of its customers. Samsung has released a broad range of models across LCD and LED, from 19 to 55-inch screen sizes. Featuring unique designs, integrated control systems, and home theater quality picture and sound, this year’s hospitality TVs offer the experiences both hoteliers and consumers demand, some examples are:
The Samsung Jack Pack solution provides hotel guests a convenient and streamlined way to simultaneously connect an assortment of devices to their TV.
Samsung’s Channel Re-mapping feature gives hotel guests the option of watching their preferred TV channels.
A built-in USB Cloning Device allows hoteliers to easily customize and copy settings across TVs, such as hotel logos, picture size, speaker volume and DTV channels.
Hotel logo display offers the ability to display the company logo on the TV screen for three to seven seconds.
Samsung is also continuing its commitment to deliver cost effective products that reduce environmental impact without sacrificing quality or efficiency. Among its 2010 lineup, Samsung offers eco-conscious hospitality LED models, ranging from 26 to 55-inch sets. All meet EnergyStar 4.0 requirements.
Exceptional Customer Support
Providing excellent customer support for Samsung’s line of hospitality TVs is paramount. To improve customer communication flow, Samsung has made significant updates this year to its hospitality website (www.samsung.com/us/business/hospitality) to capture and track sales inquiries and ensure they are routed to the appropriate contacts. The site now offers a forum where hoteliers can share their own unique experiences as well. To ensure excellent customer service, Samsung also offers a dedicated hospitality hotline staffed by trained technology experts and a nationwide network of nearly 600 authorized factory trained service people.
Dedicated to Cutting Edge Technology
Looking forward to 2011, Samsung will expand its commitment to innovative hospitality technology. Samsung plans to introduce a number of new offerings and features that will support the majority of hospitality industry technologies, improve operational efficiency and delight consumers with new in room entertainment options. Among these new technologies:
S.I.R.C.H. (Samsung Interactive Remote Control for Hospitality) streamlines implementation of new technology and updates across all TVs, including TV in room set up, TV programming and firmware update deployment. This will allow for easier day-to-day changes to business operations, saving time and labor costs.
Hotel Hub is an interactive resource that allows hotels to provide customized goods and services to guests, such as dining and spa offerings.
Connected TV will be offered on select TV models. This will allow consumers to connect to an online library of content through Samsung Apps, such as the latest news, sports scores, weather, and Facebook updates, directly from their hotel room TV screen.
